Gutter & Fascia Cleaning

With so much to consider with the maintenance of any commercial property, the cleaning of gutters can get overlooked or be something that is brought to attention when an issue occurs, such as a leak or worse still damp penetration.

At this point, there could already be damage to the building fabric including the gutters themselves but also fascias, soffits and walls due to water ingress causing damp. In extreme circumstances, this can also lead to rotten roof joists, all of which can be very expensive to rectify.

When gutters are not maintained regularly, there can be a build-up of debris formed of moss, leaves, twigs and other materials which will lead to blockages and can also encourage birds, small rodents and insects to build their nests which can result in further problems.

We recommend that gutters are cleared and cleaned on an annual basis on all commercial properties, normally either in the Spring or Autumn. This not only reduces the risk of leaks and damaged guttering, but also limits the financial liabilities involved in rectifying any problems, and maintains the general condition of the building.

If you have a building where the gutters have not been inspected and cleaned in the last year, we would recommend having them checked and if necessary cleaned before any problems occur.
